EVENT: Novatech 35th Birthday at Eden in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth – 27th May 2022
On Friday 27th May 2022 Novatech Ltd celebrated their 35th Birthday with a huge party at Eden in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth. We were part of the entertainment for the company celebrations. As well as our giant Scalextric track, the entertainment included arcade machines supplied by Game Over and board games from Dice Portsmouth.
This was a ‘close to home’ event for us in a couple of ways. Firstly, NovaTech Ltd sell computer hardware and build up custom PC’s for customers. Our very own Doug remembers when he was a teenager visiting their small (not so small anymore) premises and purchasing his very first desktop PC. Then frequently visiting over the years for upgraded graphics cards, RAM etc. Secondly they are still a local company to us and had there event in Portsmouth which is only 1.5 hours from our base.
The event was held at Gunwharf Quays in a venue called Eden (formally ‘Tiger Tiger’ Night Club). The venue itself is huge and stunning, with various different areas including an outside sun terrace overlooking the harbour, a nice restaurant area, popworld style dance room, tiki bar with authentic surroundings and a traditional night club area with booth seating. This was a perfect base for the NovaTech Ltd birthday bash.
We were located in the centre of the traditional nightclub room surrounded by a number of cool retro style arcade machines (Supplied by Game Over). When the main lights went off and the disco lights went on the room looked amazing, especially our track taking centre stage, which was covered in our track lighting.
We were there for 4 hours and had racers on the track for the whole time trying their hardest to top the leader board to win one of the cool prizes/trophies, supplied by NovaTech Ltd; And of course more importantly trying to win the bragging rights around the office for weeks to come.
After the success of this event the venue, Eden have asked us back to help them entertain a couple more events they have coming up.
