EVENT: ROKiT Phones UK Sponsorship Day at Williams F1 HQ
On 24th September we were at Williams F1 Headquarters, in Grove, where ROKiT Phones UK we have a conference for their clients, coinciding with a launch of one of their new 3D phones, who tried to get the fastest lap on the bespoke digital Scalextric track we built for Williams F1.
This was an ideal location for the launch as ROKiT are the title sponsor for the Williams Mercedes FW42 F1 race car and all the team gear. The ROKiT clients and partners were separated into 4 groups to allow them to have a tour of the epic heritage collection, the factory and also the engineering department; after which they were let loose in the Williams Games Room, where they battled it out to get into the Top 3 on our Fastest Lap leader board. The overall winner was Monty, with a 9.443 second lap, which won him a new 3D ROKiT Mobile phone for coming top.
As a ROKiT Phones UK Ambassador, current British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) driving and Lewis Hamilton’s brother, Nicolas Hamilton was also there. He’d never raced on our scalextric before, but did very well. He was addicted & kept coming back for more races. After several races Nic managed to get a lap of 8.776 seconds, which puts him onto our ‘Fastest Laps Ever’ leader board, beating Claire Williams’ of 8.850 seconds. Sir Frank Williams also attended the event.
