Harwoods Landrover Lewes
EVENT: Harwoods Landrover Lewes Christmas Party 2018
Last night we were asked to entertain the staff at Lewes Harwood Landrover for there Christmas staff get together.
We managed to set up or large digital Scalextric track early so we started off with a few warm up practice races, so they could get used to the cars and the track before the main event. After the staff having something to eat it was time to start. We decided to run an individual championship for the 31 members of staff with an F1 style points system (25 for a 1st, 18 for 2nd etc)
We started off with a round of standard 6 car races for everyone, then went onto a round of what we call ‘Crash and Burn’, which means if you crash the car you’re disqualified. So this is where the real skill comes in especially as there is an extra point per lap completed up for grabs over the 2 minute race.
This was followed by another standard round of 8 lap racing but with the power turned up a little (just to test there skills further more) The final round to gain points was a free round so gave them all a vote on which catorgary they preferred and they chose another ‘Crash and Burn’
The top 6 then went head to head in a final 15 lap race to see who the ultimate slot car racer was and it was Graham, Overall a fantastic night and we hope to see you guys again next year.
