EVENT: ‘Creatif Scalextric Championship’ in London, 24-26 May 2022
On the 24th-26th May 2022 we were with Creatif Architectural Products Ltd hosting the ‘Creatif Scalextric Championship’ at their Clerkenwell showroom, offering the chance to be crowned champions and walk away with a cash prize.
We were hired by Creatif Architectural Products to supply and man a large Scalextric track for a ‘Creatif Scalextric Championship’ at their London office, near Hatton Gardens, for the eleventh edition of the ‘Clerkenwell Design Week’. This event spanned out over many open showrooms, and a small exhibition hall, in London’s most creative district from 24th-26th May.
Creatif were launching their new ‘Outpost’ flexible workspace system, which looked amazing. They asked us to put together an ‘unforgiving’ track and turn the power up on the cars, as the ladies and gents in their industry are super competitive; so of course we did just that! With 2 sharp hairpins and few other technical left then rights which throws the cars out of balance coupled with the power on 75% meant for some proper skilful control needed to climb the leaderboard for the fastest lap.
Over the 3 days they had 100’s of potential, and many current, clients through their doors to view their new product. After the Creatif staff had showed, and gave a demonstration of, their new product the staff gently ushered customers towards our Scalextric track. On average the visitors spent over half hour on our track putting there slot car skills to the test and try to set the fastest lap.
There was a lot of competitiveness that came out during the racing. On the first day there was an epic time set of by Kyle, a Creatif client, of 6.598 secs. It turned out to be an impossible time to beat. Kyle swore that he wasn’t a scalextric pro but we have out doubts haha
Overall we had a great few days with Creatif in a lovely showroom with lots of laughs and plenty of Lotus biscuits and Haribo. Can’t wait to work with them again on some other projects.
