THE BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY

We wanted to come up with a new ‘WOW!’ track that we could showcase at the UK Slot Car Festival 2024. So we put our heads together and came up with many ideas (one of which could be next years track – watch this space!), but we kept coming back to Doug’s idea of a Zombie inspired track.

After many months of research and designing we came up with our American inspired ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ track. This 12’ x 4’ custom made track took approximately 3 months to build, and includes many different bespoke scenes which includes over 200 painted figures (which 180+ of them are Zombies).
The British Horse Society exists to change lives through the power of horses. We protect and promote the interests of all horses and those who care about them, including the 3.5 million people in the UK who ride or who drive a horse-drawn carriage.
As a charity, we work to protect the unique bond shared between horses and people, to make sure it can be enjoyed for future generations.
We took a few build images throughout the process of making this track.

There were so many different aspects to this track, including:
- A ‘Safe Zone’
- US Freeway
- Hooters Restaurant (supplying fresh chicken within the ‘Safe Zone’)
- A broken down truck, which the car/track drives through
- Night (Gentlemans) Club with interior
- All American Tire’ zombie take over scene
- The over-run Grand Billboard
- Crashed Helicopter on fire in the farm house
- PLUS much more scenery!
- And then we have to talk about the Zombies, see below…..
As we have already mentioned, we have so have many Zombies and survivors around the track, including:
- Nuns with baseball bats
- Zombies in an incinerator (with real smoke)
- Mutated and disfigured zombies all around the track
- A very scared man on the lavatory
- Zombies run over by the ‘Doug-inator’ Tank
- Zombie ‘Hooters’ Staff
- A herd of Zombies
- Piles of dead bodies
- Even “Where’s Wally” has been turned into a Zombie
- and many many more!
